I had been using AC Delco fuel filters since my truck was new.I changed them about every 10k miles or so.I had had 2 of them plug up.I just thought I got some bad fuel. This last time,I put on a napa(wix)filter. My truck runs beter than it ever has with the AC fuel filter. It also picked up a mile or 2 per gallon.Has anyone else ever noticed a difference in what kind of fuel filter they use?Is there a big difference in brands? What kind do you guys use?

I use ACDelco's. Is it possible you picked up some bad fuel? Or maybe, the other filter does not clean the fuel as well as the ACDelco...

I would say that you got hold of something in the fuel. I know that the micron rating on the WIX and the ac delco are the same. Depending on how old that Wix filter is, it could have been a Racor filter that is the exact same as th AC filter.

I changed my fuel filter about a month after I bought the truck since the dealer said there was 5000 on the current filter, and I was'nt too sure if this was true. I put a Napa filter on and it did seem to run better but Im not sure how long the AC filter had been on prior to changing it. It may have just been really dirty.
