Silly newbie question, but...
What is in the cam tower (?) that is keeping the IP in place after the 3 outside bolt have been removed?
I thunk I had it out, but alas I have not.
Thanks!

I'm preparing for this job. Looks like bolts are accessed through oil fill spout after removing it.
Yes there are 3 other bolts that are accessed through the oil fill tube. Pull it off and the rubber gasket too then shove a plastic grocery bag in the bottom and unscrew. You don't want the bolts falling into the oil fill pan. You will need to turn the motor to put each bolt into the right position for removal. I just used a torque wrench w/ a socket on it to turn the motor. Some on here have used the key to turn the truck over for a split second till the bolt is in the correct position.
Hope this helps.

Yup, that's it. I found that I needed to remove both the fill spout, and the rubber grommet that seals it to the timing-chain cover -- and it was still a PITA . You have to turn the engine for each bolt, there's not much room to work, and you want be *extremely* careful not to drop one. There's also a pin in the IP hub that you need to pay attention to; apparently it's possible to put the pump back in with this pin in one of the bolt holes, and then nothing else lines up properly (no, I didn't do this -- Cowracer did a really nice write-up of the procedure (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111876) a while back, and included this bit of wisdom :D).
