I just bought my 02' Duramax 4x4 lb7 from a dealer about 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it's stock but for some reason it seems like it goes into limp mode or something. Today was the first time it gave me the Service Engine Soon and stayed on as soon as I started my truck. I scanned it and it said something like this "transmission range sensor high output"
I'm not sure if the truck has a chip or got flashed do these trucks normally goto limp with stock torque?
Also what i've noticed the gear selection never highlights in D or 2 but when I put it in D or 2 it will go in..??
Any help would be appreicated!
Thanks!

Chesck NSBU switch for the lighted indicator... it can cause some hassles when it is faulty.
Chanfe the black bodies one out for a tan coloured one.
Might prevent the trans from going limp as well

Thanks, I did some searching which I should have done before posting this and it seems this is the case! Some people said it was replaced under the 100k warrenty as emissons?
My truck has 62k miles so it's out of the 36k warrenty :(
Thanks for the quick reply!!

100K warranty applies to it. Might have to pay deductible, but that is it. OR Change it yourself in 20 minutes for 65.00 and take the rest of the cash and buy a well deserved beer. That's it

Maybe I'll look into the upgraded NSBU switch for $65.
