2003 D-max has white smoke blowing heavy out of exhaust, runs very rough and when removing oil fill cap has alot of crankcase pressure. Was running a 230 VA stacked w/ 90 BD and exhaust got close to 1600. Injectors have around 20k on them. Think it could be a burnt piston, or injectors?

Could be head gasket. Piston would be blue. Probably a bad injector.

That dont sound good. How does it run? Miss? White smoke is usually unburnt fuel or coolant. Crankcase pressure and unburnt fuel equal bad usually....

that same senario happened to a freind of mine, except he was running the hjat stacked with 155pp, his wife he said was pulling a fifth wheel over a mountain pass, while he was sleeping, the truck went to 1600 and then boom, he was still able to drive it to the dealer, they first thought injector, but then had to pull the motor due to #8 cylinder being scuffed and cracked, cost him 20 grand, i bet wi would of help him, here is a few pictures

It's my buddies truck, but it is drivable with a loss of power, it will still run up to speed but it's very rough like if a plug wire was off on a gasser. Guess we'll find out for sure in a couple days, he's taking it to the shop in the morning.

he did mention that as well, like it had a few plug wires off, also pulled loaded the starter harder for starting, had oil dripping from the exhaust:confused:

There is another LB7 engine for sale on ebay for over $6K. Just an fyi as your buddy may want to look into it. A whole lot cheaper than $20K.

at the time he found out it was not on warenty, they had received a new motor, once installed it cost him just over 20k cdn
