Guys - Where can I get this fuel additive. What is a fair price? And last but not least are there different grades of this product.

camping world carries it at a reasonable price. I don't recall which one they carry, but it is the "all in one" with anti gell, ceetain improver etc.

Camping World. About $6.00 for a 16 ounce bottle of "Performance Formula". Will treat up 60 gallons or 2 tankful. There are others who buy it by the quart or 5-gallon bucket from a few internet retailers such as www.blueridgediesel.com, www.dieselpage.com & www.o-f-i.com.

You can go to the Stanadyne website and search for a dealer close to you. It is http://www.stanadyne.com/new/ppt/ppt_region_search.asp?region=1If nothing near you then you can order it off the net.

I got my Napa store to order it in for me. He now stocks it. The one shot is $3.50, the 16 oz is $6.00 and the half gallon that treats up to i think 250 gals or something like that is $19. this is the performance flavor with the blue label.

Juke: Are you sure about this?....That's $1.00/tank. The 5 gal pail at $110 is $2.75/tank

That's a good savings if your not mistaken about the price/quantity

The Wal-Marts in my area sell the large size (white label) Power Service additive for about $12 but not Stanadyne... It would be nice if they did.. I also buy the Stanadyne PF in 5 Gal pails - last one was from Blueridge Diesel - nice folks ... Anyone know who stocks the Lubricity formula in 5 gal pails? (Blueridge didn't)

Standyne Performance FormulaI've been thinking of buying the 5-gal bucket but thought it would be be difficult and heavy to pour into smaller bottles. Is there a tap or pump that you use to get it out?

Johnny,

Using a funnel I pour the PF from the 5 gal pail (it has a nice spout) into some 1/2 gal Stanadyne bottles that I saved. I then pour it into a few 16oz stanadyne bottles (which I also save) and carry about four of them in the truck. I have also been adding a few oz of FPPF injector cleaner at each fillup along with a double dose of PF. Since running the FPPF cleaner my balance rates have also come down - all are +/- 2 or less at idle.

I buy John Deere Fuel conditioner, it is almost identicly in formulation to Standyne but it is much easier to find.

I get mine from www.blueridgediesel.com . A box of 12 pint bottles of their "performance formula" cost $47.40 plus $9.07 shipping. Each bottle treats 60 gal of fuel. Stanadyne does make several types of fuel additives, but thier "performance formula" can be used year round and is the one that is approved by GM for use in the Duramax. Just one tip - when the stuff is still in the bottle it will gell up at temps below about 9 degrees, so you should keep it inside in the winter, or you may have to wait until the cab warms up to be able to pour it out of the bottle. I asked Stanadyne about this and they said it was normal and would not affect it at all. But they do reccommend keeping it at room temperature until you are ready to use it.

I purchased my first 1/2 gal jug of Stanadyne Performance at www.ksfuel.com (http://www.ksfuel.com) and it was $23.95 (shipping included).

Just took my first trip with it in the tank and I got 15.5mpg @ 80+mph... I think it's helping a bit.

My local Stanadyne dealer told me he thinks they're both made by Stanadyne, too. The Deere dealer is next to the Stanadyne dealer, so it doesn't matter to me. :)

I buy mine here http://www.fueladditiveonline.com/additive_products.htm, if you buy a case of 1/2 gallon bottles it is 14.25 a bottle, very fast and no hassles. I haved used the performance formula from day one and am on my second case. I bought some 8 oz bottles and fill them to make my own one shot, slightly less than needed for an empty tank but the tank usually has a few gallons in it when i fill.

I too get mine at www.blueridgediesel.com and get the 5 gallon bucket. Seems much cheaper that way. Then I got a 1/2 gallon container that is sold by pest control companies. It is the kind you can squeeze to measure. It is not hard to re-fill with a good wide funnel. Keep the 1/2 gallon bottle in the truck. I have a top on the back and keep the 1/2 gallon container in a 5 gallon bucket with some rags and small container to add to the fuel tank before I fill up each time. I figure the 5 gallons will last about 40,000 to 45,000 miles.

About the additives, yes, I have put it in very tank since bought last March. I use Power Service from WallyWorld. Alot more accessable than the Stadyne.

I ordered a case of Stanadyne Performance Formula (pints) from Dieselpage.com on 1/10/05. Two days later on 1/12/05 I got mail from them that said it is temporarily out of stock and they should have it in 2-3 weeks. They said a tracking number would be sent to me when they ship.

That is the last I have heard. I can actually get it for less at Camping World but want to avoid the trip. Shipping is expensive. Going to give them another week and see what they do about this order.
