ever notice are trucks dont have rockers on them? i was doing some staring at my truck tonight and relized the reason the truck looks so mispropotioned is the lack of rockers. I build custom cars for a living and when i chop tops there is a rule of thumb... 1/3 glass to 2/3 body. i think adding rockers to my truck will better correct the look.

Has any one seen a truck with this done? im not sure when i will do this since the truck is brand freeking new and i dont know how sure i am about cutting up my brand new truck but perhaps by the end of summer i will feel that it is old enough :D

This would all so cover up some of the unsightly frame that hangs down so low.

Yeah, that frame does look like crap. I added some tube steps and now you can't see the frame

i beg to differ. proportions are very important to any car. thats why a geo metro looks like ass and a 58 corvette is timeless. and how do you know if they look better with out them, ever seen one with them ;)

I will admit our suburban LOOKS 1000000 times better with the rocker molding and tube steps (a Z71, not an LT or LS)

Ford F-150's have no frame exposed, but IMO they are terribly out of proportion; the body below the window sill is way too tall. I do agree that the frame exposed below the body is ugly, but it is the result of the very deep frame rails on the HD. GM chose to have a better proportioned body, Ford elected to hide the frame with an awkward looking body. Nerf bar/steps do a pretty good job of hiding the frame, though.

There is no way to hide the whole frame with rockers. other wise it would look like a ford. and i agree they have way to much body side. and sure the same thing could be done with a step but thats way to easy. :D
I think a 4" rocker would cut the exposed frame in half and lend to a more proportioned truck. But to each his own.

I never really noticed how the new Furds look until reading this thread... Man, they look like crap when you really notice that tall body side. Don't like it, personally...
