A friend of mine is going to make some kind of diesel out of vegetable oil and some aditives has anyone run this type of fuel in their 2006 lbz? he is saying it is not biodiesel it is alternative diesel or something like that he also is saying that I don't have to make any changes to my truck just pour it in and go he got some kind of chemical from a company to add to vegetable oil and other things to make this product work.

if hes making it correctly its great stuff! stay away from Diesel Secret as was already mentioned. generally people use filtered waste veggie oil, methanol and lye. i think thats pretty common and would question other methods. the guys here should be able to help you out. true biodiesel made correctly will work in your 06. just be aware that its a great solvent. so youll be changing filters more frequently than normal at first as it looses the crud in your tank and lines. it might be a good idea to look at things like the nick tane filters. they are larger and have a few extra features. its also a great lubricant and there is evidence out there that it reduces wear in all fuel components.
