Do I need to do some cutting to keep them from rubbing? I have been told that if I crank up the torsion bars, it will ride rougher. When I tow my camper now, the front end sits to high so I would hate to raise it even more. Am I trying to run to large of a tire and wheel? I would appreciate any pics. that anyone has showing how and where to cut. Thanks.

Check my garage for some pics of that size. I have an 07 so I'm not sure how bad they would rub on an 08 but you might have to trim some. Nothing extreme though... A 305/50 will fit better than a 305/55 though.

I have 305/55/20. My wheels do not rub at all now than I went to a zero offset. I had a +25 offset and they were hitting the sway bar because they were tucked in too close. The ride does get a little rough but if you get some cognito pitman idler arm supports it'll ease up the ride a bit. Try running 60 psi in your tires instead of 65psi. You should be fine assuming you arent towing more than 10k lbs. Yes u will have to do some cutting and trim a piece of sheet metal on the inside rear-fender. As far as the sagging in the rear it shouldnt be too bad unless your bars are cranked all the way. Try to leave about 1.25 inches on ur t-bars. If u do want to crank all the way and eliminate trailer sag. Get some rear-bags.

As noted in my garage (linked above by Jawaring), if you choose a wheel with the proper positive offset (from +25 to +30), you won't need to trim anything -- maybe a bit of the aft plastic liner, at most. The problem with our NBS bodies is ... few wheel MFGs are yet offering large positive offsets. If you choose a wheel with less than an inch of posi-offset (+25), you'll need to hack away some of the NBS sheetmetal ... the undercurled fender. Some MFGs that DO now offer higher offsets include Eagle, Incubus and MB Motoring, or Centerline for forged wheels.
FWIW .... Salman and I seem to disagree on this issue. He had a problem with the identical Incubus wheels at 20x9 (+25 offset) that are on my truck. His rubbed, while mine don't (Pirelli 305/55R20E) ... other than minor plastic liner at full-lock in reverse. No sheetmetal touches -- and minor trimming of the aft-plastic would totally eliminate it. Go figure~! If I had to guess, I'd say his Terra-G's more aggressive shoulder tread was contacting the sway bar, whereas mine are clear by an easy half-inch. (Note that Salman had to cut sheetmetal to clear those zero-offset Ion-137 wheels.)
Your other point about altering ride comfort is a myth. Nor-Cal Nick has made this point repeatedly in these Fora. Raising the Tbars won't change the ride until you overdo it. At that point you're reducing the down-travel of the suspension. The late-model D'maxes have plenty of Tbar range ... keep your adjustment at 2 inches or less, and it's not an issue. Target your Tbar-cranking only enough to carry the rocker panel just at the top of the bolt-circle ... you should be golden.
P.S. agreeing w/Salman ... you need air-bags to properly carry that camper.
That's a totally different problem than your tire fitment.

i have 305/50/20 on my 05 and i put truxx leaveling kit in mine and then just turned the wheels and trimed where they were hitting. they are perfect now and the ride is the same as stock. there are pice in my garage. the kit was 150 it think and it was money well spent. and i love the way the truck looks and handles with them

I just went to the ready lift website and they have some detailed instruction on where to cut. You'll have to download the instructions for the '08. Oh, I'm running 20x9 33x12. I only rub the liner a hair after i did the trimming.
