Who has replaced their's by themselves? I've reread many of the posts and it sounds like the only way to get the switch is to buy part 12572805. It's a big enough pita getting my head up under the dash to look at the switch. I want to know how big of a headache it's going to be to replace. I'm getting real tired of no cruise control!!!!

I had to replace the entire clutch master cylinder. That's the only way to get the new switch. It's pretty easy to replace. Unplug the connect going to the safety switch. Under the hood disconnect the hydraulic line (pull the metal pin) and pull the ends apart. It's got a check valve - you won't lose any fluid. Turn the master cylinder counter clockwise and pull out (you may have to release the plastic piece that connects the rod to the clutch pedal - it has tabs).
Thanx, I found the master cylinder on Rock Auto for 88.00 shipped. It's an AC Delco part 385551. He even called Delco to verify it has the switch. GM Parts Direct wants 122.00 plus their high shipping.

You get the master cylinder with the new switch, but all you have to do is take the new switch off and snap it on.Really simple.
