: Anyone find Aftermarket NBS fog lamp bulbs??

I'm looking for 4000k units to match my low & high beams. Putco has a web site that says they are the sole supplier of these things, but no one sells them... They are H16 bulbs

Any ideas??

Search (http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226784) is your friend. In that thread...everything you need to do to put HID in your lights.

I don't want the HID's; just plain ole halogens

These goofy NBS trucks have a brand new bulb style that as of right now, is only available from the dealer, and only in the standard color temp. I have 4000k halogens right now for my standard lamps, and I want the fogs to match. I have searched the topic to death, and no one seems to know where to get them, hence this post...

Apparantly, you did not read that the 880 bulb will fit in there with some minor modification. And here are the 880 PIAAs (http://www.piaalights.com/detailsBulbs.php?productName=880%20XTREME%20WHITE% 20PLUS%20BULBS).

OK, I again read thru this ENTIRE thread

http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=175393

Nowhere does anyone say they have used the 880's and heres how you do it. People heard this and read that, but no one's done it. I'm not looking to gamble 50 bucks for a couple of bulbs to find out they don't fit and aren't returnable. I wouldn't mind buying the bulbs and modifying the bulb base to make them work, but I ain't cuttin' the housing and I ain't gluein'. Unless I missed something, the only guy to have successfully modded the fogs was hut, and he used HID's plus he had to cut & glue, per his post.

The original purpose of my post was to find out if anyone found DROP-IN halogen bulbs

Guess not yet

Hey, Chromer do you have the part numbers for the Hella bulbs you used for the high and low beams? Looking to do the same as you. Thanks!!

Chromer,
Check out this thread that Dually linked above if you missed it: http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226784

This one is different than the long one you've quoted and illustrates how to convert to the 880 bulb. I hadn't seen it before anyway...

Sorry I tried to help you out. That is some chip you got on your shoulder. You did not bother to look at the thread I posted FOR YOU. hemisareslow figured out that an 880 bulb (which I looked online FOR YOU) would fit in the hole with no glue, no cutting of the housing (yes, you must cut the retaining ring off the H16 Bulb you will be discarding) and was waterproof up to the point of near immersion.

But...you know better than I because you went and posted a thread that had nothing to do with what I dug up. Guess I will not be making this mistake for you again.

I didn't find anything either. Just received my bracket kit which will allow me to install 510 or 540 PIAA's in the factory GMC fog location. I plan on going with 510 SMR fogs.

I'm really sorry that's the impression you got... I do not have a chip on my shoulder. I kinda got the impression you were chastising me for not using search, and I did search before posting, I always do. For some reason, that 1st post you linked to didn't come up for me when I searched, and when you had your post link to that page from the word "search", I wrongly assumed you were just linking to the search feature, which I use often, so I never clicked on your link. That's why I referenced the link I posted. My mistake... Sorry about the hard feelings, and I do appreciate the effort you made.

I do not chastise others for not using search...it is counter-productive. I post the search results only every time...I knew that you were looking for an option...HID or whatever...just looking to help out a fellow enthusiast.

No hard feelings.

Again, sorry if I over-reacted... Thanks for your help
