My bone stock 2006 has been blowing off the flexible hose on the top of the motor that connects to the tubing going to the intercooler. This has happened cruising at 65 mph and especially under load trying to get up to speed while towing my toy box. The dealer says bad clamp. I say BS. Anyone with any experience with this? Any cures? Or do I just buy another roll of tie wire?

This sounds funky... Clean the inside of the boost tube and the metal male end with a LITTLE alchohol or something. Just get ALL the oil and crud off of both.
Then take some cheap hair spray, coat the end of the line and the inside of the tube with it.
Tighten the clamp, let dry, and be on your way.

I know it sounds funny, I read about this from a guy that had the same problems w/ the 6.0 on the powerstrokes. He said he never had a problem again.
I'm talking coating stuff lightly, just enough to make it tacky.

Have seen this problem before. It is the oil that is causing your problem. Do what was said above and it should fix your problem.

We have replaced a those clamps before, and do just what jasondt2001 has posted, one thing i would like to add is not to over tighten the clamp as it can distort the tube end and then it may never seal....

Do as jason said! The oil is what makes it come off....check this thread out, it will make it easier rather than me trying to explain it....

Thanks for the help. One of the posts refered to rerouting the pcv valve hose away from the intercooler system. Is there a kit for this? Or do I create something in the driveway?

My F-550 used to that about once a week. It was the oil from the pvc system too. I finally cured it by using some channel locks and bending the end out slightly. That way the hose would have to travel up and over the belled end. problem solved.

This is just another reason to do the pcv reroute! Mine would do this before reroute, past it "no more".

Where do you reroute the PCV hose too?

Search pcv reroute and a great tread will come up about where and how to do this. Alot has been said about this mod + it is very cheap to do. I might have $20 in mine and it looks like it came that way.

reroute PCV to the atmosphere. Do a search for "PCV reroute" , there is tons of information on this and several members have posted pics.
