This has been discussed allot, and I've been noticing mine for awhile now.

First it was lube it, then it was replacing it. Then I read they went back to lubing it. Then I also read someone asking why not have a grease fitting on it.

I never saw any answer to why not have a grease fitting on it. Seems I recall that was the way it use to be and to my knowledge that work.

So is it lube, replace, put a fitting on it, or trade it (which I ain't doing).

I lubed mine with a real heavy, sticky grease and it seemed to work well. About two weeks kater my replacement steering shaft assem,by came in so I don't know what the longivitey of greasing would have been. My opinion is that it wasn't greased with enough or with right kind of grease to begin with. I think there's a good chance the replacement asembly won't last long either because of the typr of grease used. Time will tell. I don't recalln steerung shaft assemblies being greasable . It would take a redisign of the steering shaft to put a grease fitting in but thats not impossible.

I made the comment the next step would be a zerk if packing it with grease didn't work. It has been several months now. So far so good. I have convinced myself that mine didn't have enough grease and what it had was too light/thin. Later! Frank
