: Cost of 2500HD?
Tom6mn 01-27-2005, 01:16 AM I live in California and I am wondering how much people are paying for new 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4's? I am not sure if I will be getting a good price and I am also wondering if the dealerships do any negotiating on the diesels?
Thanks for the Support!

metalhead 01-27-2005, 01:27 AM hi, not sure if ill help u (im in ne oregon) but mt 05 D/A CC LB SLE was 38k out the door:)
metalhead 01-27-2005, 01:28 AM also, had to negotiate due to them screwing up the order:mad:
Reineke 01-27-2005, 01:29 AM Sticker on mine was 46K, after supplier discount, dropped it down to 37K, after TTL, back to 42K and after 5K down payment, out the door with 37K with no trade in.
jholly 01-27-2005, 01:48 AM use the internet. www.edmunds.com will give invoice. You also ask for quotes via this site for local dealers. You end up talking to the fleet guy. not much negotiating, you know the invoice. other sites are www.kbb.com, autobytel.com, autoweb.com.
good luck

MrsSpoolin 01-27-2005, 02:29 AM Sticker was $40-42,000. Due to them having an invoice sale, it was $38,000 (can't quite remember now). We also got a military appreciation discount, from the dealer and the GM one. Had the Dakota payoff tacked on there (about $4,000), $9,000 down, $2500 in other rebates. Total was $30,249.54 (I looked it up on the paperwork), with extended warrenty, which we cancelled since. That was in Alabama. In Alaska, sticker is around $46-48,000.
srode 01-27-2005, 06:48 AM Invoice minus discounts & promotions is what most people are paying. That's what I paid for mine in '04
madmax69 01-27-2005, 08:29 AM Yup, invoice minus all rebates, promotions, etc... Don't forget your GM Card.! That was another $2000 off on my truck, plus if you financed through GMAC, it was another $1000 off. You only have to keep the financing with them for 30 days, so no biggie..
Mine stickered at $45K, and I got out the door for $38K with all tax/title/license/etc.
Madmax69, be warned that I was told the financing needed to last 4 months to keep the GMAC financing rebate.
I got a leftover, new '04 CCLB 4x4 w/ gas (6L) stick LS for $23.8k plus T&L. All rebates came off the dealer "invoice" price. MSRP on the window sticker was $35k. Watch your papers for the one only specials, and when one fits -- jump on it!!
JRKRACE 01-27-2005, 11:55 AM Where I am gassers you can pretty much steal. A Duramax? Forget it. I tried and no matter what I did the difference between diesel and gas was to big to pass up. Maybe next time when the moons align, the wolves sing, and if GM ever makes more than 120,000 of them...

Sadly it is not as easy as you might hope.
The Duramax is STILL under allotment. That means dealers must get a "production slot" from the factory, then can sell the resulting truck. Dealers have to do enough volume to get the slots so not every dealer gets one.
If your dealer has a slot he might deal. If not, forget it.
I ordered my truck from a dealer with a slot and paid $300 over invoice. I have a CC SRW long bed with the exact options I want. It was in the low 30s -- very low 30s -- WITH TAX AND REGISTRATION. Mine is 2wd, but well equipped.
Based on my reading of this group and another, nobody in CA got a better deal on a D/A CC last year than I did. Since demand is still high, you will have to work REALLY HARD to get a deal in the low 30s. I went through the fleet manager at Connel Chevrolet on Harbor in Costa Mesa (Orange County).
Also realize you cannot get a 6 speed in CA and you can not get running lights in a SRW truck.

aka108 01-28-2005, 09:21 AM Start dealing from the invoice price. I've used the kellybluebook site and it is pretty accurate. If you live in So-Cal you have a pot load of dealers to work with and should be able to line up what you want at invoice or a few bucks above (maybe $100 or so).
When you see rebates being offered they have unsold merchandise in the pipeline. Don't ever be in a rush to buy or you'll get shafted.
Benny Long 01-28-2005, 11:37 AM Ya'll need to move to Alabama.. 04.5 D/A CC 2 wheel Drive after supplier dis. and rebates $31,000.00 out the door
Capt Sport 01-28-2005, 11:42 AM I just bought an 05 2500 LS 4x4 EX SB D/A for $34620 out the door. But I have an advantage! Dad retired from GM after 38 years so, I got the employee discount. That and the dealer screwed up and put a rebate in the contract that I shouldn't have gotten so that saved another $1K. What a pain in the ass they were though. They tried to get me to sign rebate forms that clearly stated "could not be combined with the employee discount program". After several threating phone calls from there finance department I called the GM customer service number. Amazing how quick they were to admit there mistake and gladly accept the short end of the stick on that one.
Best of luck in your search for your truck. Becareful, I have yet to come across a dealer/stealer that was up front and honest throughout the whole deal. And, don't heasitate to call the GM customer service number on the website. There great help and will definately straight'n out any problems.

whityinfl 01-28-2005, 01:16 PM I got my 2004.5 GMC last year in May. It was a 4x4 Excab SB SLE that had all the options that I wanted. Rubber floor, Cab lights, Fog lights, Compass/Temp, Trailer Mirrors, and the Nice wheels for 32,700. The sticker was 41,330. It doesn't have the ATC, power seat, or steering wheel controls. I wish I had the steering wheel controls, but other than that, I am happy to find the deal.

cdhd2001 01-28-2005, 05:30 PM My 2003 was $42K sticker. Got them down to $34K, TTL + difference in trade took me back to $41k.
McRat 01-28-2005, 05:38 PM I ordered mine for $200 over invoice at Irvine GMC from Randy Thompson.
With the GM Card rebate, the 0% in effect, I ended up paying about $10,000 under MSRP.
