Ive heard holley and carter will leak, but some people have had some luck with the edelbrock. Just what I have read though I have no personal experience with any of these for a diesel application.

do you know why they leak?

I believe the seals are different for the diesel fuel, I am sure some one with first hand knowledge will be able to give you a more detailed answer.

go with a PPE, cheap, withstand diesel/biodiesel, cheap... good to go

There are several folks that have had problems with the Edelbrock leaking as well.

They leak because of seal incompatibility with diesel fuel.

I have had a Carter 4600HP for 800 miles without problems running biodiesel. But that isn't long enough to evaluate the setup to see if it last or leaks. I am going on a 5000 mile round trip soon and we see what it does then. Help this helps.

I ran a holley black for about 5 months before it took a sh*t on me. The holley isnt made for diesel fuel. Your better off to spend the extra cash and get one thats made for diesel and thats going to last. The PPE pump is about the cheapest way to go for a "regular" lift pump.

kennedydiesel has lift pumps for far cheaper than ppe

Does anyone know if a single Kennedy pump can supply a PPE Hot +2

The Carter pump supplied as part of my Super Diesel set-up has gone 40,000 miles so far with no leaks or other failures. It does has a little corrosion on the case from the winter salt here in CT but that's only cosmetic.

no....

Okay

Dan how can I mount the ppe pump does it have holes in the body of the pump that I can just drill holes throught the frame and bolt it directly to the frame?

I am running the Carter lift pump 100gph@8psi. I only run it at 3/4 throttle or more by a full throttle switch under the throttle pettle. I wired in a 3 way switch so I can run it full time or tun it off also. I also put in a bypass with a check valve, so if it does quit on me I won't be stranded.

Dan,
If someone already has an Edelbrock 1792 couldn't they change the o-rings out for diesel compatablity? Isn't the PPE pump a 1792 with just different o-rings installed by you? It would be great if users that have this pump could just do this. Of course if someone doesn't have it they could buy it from you already finished. It's only $70 more than somewhere else and it's ready to bolt in.

I guess Dan or someone from PPE doesn't want to answer this question?

Ok, since PPE does not want to respond to this, does anyone else know the answer to the question?

The LB7 will go to 500RWHP without any lift pump. This is on a stationary dyno. When you add the dynamics of inertia it really helps to add lift supply. The Kennedy single makes about 4 psi and moves a TON of volume. Add a second pump and the pressure increases to about 8psi. This added psi helps when fighting inertia. The pumps that I sell are virtually silent, will not leak, generate no wear particles, and have had little to no failures and really none that I can think of that were out of warranty. With any Dmax going for max effort, I would suggest the Twin pumps and billet pickup. Give the CP3 every advantage that you can and you will find it to be more consistent...

Well I'm back from my trip to California, which went very well with the lift pump and filter setup that I posted before. We went through 60 gallons of biodiesel for the first 1050 miles then 26 gallons of bio mixed with 60 gallons of diesel for the next 1200 miles. Then after that it was 100% diesel for the rest of the trip, which was 3000 miles. I changed the 2 micron filter before the trip and had spares on hand for just in case there was a problem. That filter is still in now, with no clogs on this trip and the pump ran flawless. IMO its a good setup.
