So today i noticed a couple small spots of oil and i think i found where its coming from. Could you tell me why this may have just started? Havn't towed or anything in atleast a month.
Here are a couple pics. Looks to be at the begining of the rear drive shaft but before the u joint.

It could be the rear seal in the transfercase, but, 1st thing I would do is to look up towards the front of the transfercase on the passenger side about 2/3 rds of the way up and see if any oil has been trailing back or down from there. If nothing is leaking from up there(dreaded pump rub hole) then your lucky and the rear seal is realitively cheap and easy to fix.

Well there is not a trail of oil, but on the passenger side, i found this.. Looks to be two seperate leaks.

The transfer case leak, I would leave that one alone at least for now the case being wet I would wash it as clean as you can. Take it for a drive and see if you can find it neither one is life threatening. PLAY SAFE!

From you pictures it doesn't appear to be coming from the spot where the pump rubs thru the case. Both leaks appear to be minor. The rear seal would be the easiest to fix, just drop the drive shaft and remove and replace the rear seal. The front would require removing the transfer case and replacing the seal between the transmission and the transfer case.

Ok thanks guys. I just hate seeing leaks and oil drops. Always makes me paranoid. I'll just keep an eye on it.

I had the same leak on mine...noticed it around the 10K mile mark. I just had my TC rear seal replaced under warranty last month, which was around 15K miles. Not a drop on the ground but was wet around the rear seal area. Anyways, so far so good.

Did you actually have oil drops on the ground? From the photos, it looks like its just seepage? If seepage I would clean off and leave alone. If its dripping, I would repair.
Looks pretty minor and nothing to worry about
