Got the Sulastic Shackles Installed and damn!! What a difference.

I got a perfect spot my my house to test out Suspension stuff, a Railroad Crossing, it's not terrible, but it makes you slow down to go over it.

When my suspension was 100% Stock, I had to hit the brakes and slow down. Then I put on the Bilstein's, and I could keep my speed, just let off the gas as I went over them. Now with the Bilstein's coupled with the Sulastic's, I stay on the gas and barely even feel the bumps and dips.

I don't know how much it raised the back of the Truck, but it def. did. As soon as I sat in it, I could feel a slight nose dive effect. I gotta crank the T-Bars a lil bit to even it back out.

But all-in-all...Bilsteins coupled with Sulastic's WILL give you a 1500-esque ride.

Took the shop about 2.5 hours for the install with breaks in-between to help out customers and such.

How about a name of the vendor or if there are any supporting vendors please have them chime in.

Nor-Cal Nick sells them I believe. He is a supporting Vendor.

But yea...that link posted above was the products Home Page with info about them.

In theory, you are making the spring softer because of the shackle angle, hence, less ability to haul...

It's just allowing the suspension to work. When the suspension compresses, the leaf wants to go up. It's allowing to do so.

Stock, the shackle is straight up and down at ride hieght. Instead of its natural tendency to go up, it is being pulled down by the shackle.

Here is a pic of the shackles.

Yes they bypass the spring rate but they do have a stop point so you can still run a load. Anyone that is running a large heavy load should be using air bags and at that point you will have a total best of both world's. These shackles are great and we have them now.

Nick or Chad don't see a dime for the company, so their name.com is forbidden.

Gentlemen...

Keep this to the topic at hand. If you do not like what a moderator does in enforcing the rules..PM him or a Lead about it...still do not like the answer?...try an Admin. But discussing it in the open forum will not be happening unless it is in Forum Ops.

Thank you.
