When I drive with no load in the truck, it seems to try to shift way too smooth. I don't like that, I prefer to feel each shift. Also, the smooth shifts are what wears out the bands, If I'm not mistaken.

So what can I change via Efilive to keep the truck shifting in the most economical rpm range ( 1800 ? ) and put some more positive feel to the shift action ? I can barely count the gears, It's shifting like a Caddy !

I don't want to use tow haul unladen, as it shifts way too high.

no bands in these trans, but in stock form i doubt you can get much of a feel for the shifts. they are designed for max comfort and are constantly learning to keep it that way. you can adjust shift timing via efi live but i would not recomend you doing it because of the probability of having a failure. no offense but one wrong change and it could cost you big. the engine has much more variables to effect it and you chances are much better for survival. i would contact some of the efi tuners here and see what they offer. good luck.
