I have an 05 lly and have a mag-hytec deep pan on the trans, and wondering how much fluid i need to buy for a drain and fill? I already did the hoot method when i got the pan about a year ago, and I want to change my trans fluid before summer and want to drain and fill!!!

That might be a question to ask the Mag-Hytech manugacture, or drain and measure. The Allison deep pan takes about 3.5 qts. more the the standard shallow pan, which would put it at around 11 qts. I would think that they might be pretty close. Hope this helps.

That might be true for a complete system flush, but for a drain and fill will not use that much. Sorry for the typo on the last post.

According to the Allison 1099F document the drain and fill capacity of the Allison 1000 transmisison with the shallow pan is 7.4 quarts and with the deep pan is 10.6 quarts. IIRC the mag-hytec pan has the same capacity as the Allison deep pan, so you should expect to use 10.6 quarts during a drain and fill.
