I am considering switching to Amsoil 15-40 as oppose to Shell Rotella. I currently run the Rotella year round, and was planning on switching and using the Amsoil year round. Do you think this is a good idea? Is Amsoil as good as Rotella? I have always heard that synthetic is better, but what do you guys think?
Oh, this is for the truck in my sig.

Amsoil is a very good product. You can prob. chk. Amsoil's web page for a wear ball test. They had these some time ago. I used the 15/40 & their filters. Would change filters twice to an oil change, that is change filter & add a qt. for same. This worked quite well. I would run about 7k on a filter give or take a few.

When I bought my burb, it was using Rotella. I immediately changed it to Amsoil 15W-40. It was running better and smoother. I ran that oil for almost 10K.
