Looking to make my new '05 a good runner but I dont want to get to out of control just yet. I have heard very good things about the edge. But everyone is saying to only run in 3 stage at the most or i will be replacing my tranny soon..... So what are all the mods to do with the tranny that I need to do so as to not destroy my tranny?

Let's see, I just wanted a nice truck for towing my scooters. In the past I've never bothered to mod any car or truck I've owned. Now I have a Predator, MBRP exhaust, Rancho 9000's....................

get the predator and you will not be dissatisfied. then save your money on the rest of the mods, except guages. once you have the money saved, get the tranny upgrades. once that is done, place the predator on the 100hp tune and let her rip. then you can start playing with other mods, if that isn't good enough for you. this truck will cost you money.

without the tranny, many run the 85hp tune on the predator. i run mine in the 65hp tune and love it. let the tranny learn it before you rip it. it will take a little but your tranny should be safe for awhile with it, unless you have existing issues in the tranny.

Keep it Stock! Its got more power than you need, Unless your towing across country! And thats from someone who hot rods every thing I own!

Concur with the above. Leave it stock. Save yourself a bunch of money and possible expensive problems. If you really want a go fast, buy a Benz AMG.

With the Duramax you CAN have your cake and eat it too. I say PLAY!!

i would go with the predator i have had mine since turkey day and i love it. it is also good for reading the trouble codes

I have an 05 also...I put the edge on it after about 400 miles and had nothing but problems with it in all the stages...I got my money back and got the Predator...This is the best bang for the buck and you will not be sorry...I drive every day on the 85hp and it Rips...Good luck with your decission..

I have heard of the edge working fine on non- california emission trucks only...Just so you know that information
