I decided to do a full programming cycle from scratch without pulling the recommended fuses, SEOx, Info, Radio.

Of course, I'm a trained professional stunt dummy, so kids DO NOT try this at home. I have more than one PCM. :D

Everything worked until the end of the uploading cycle, and it said INVALID FORMAT. However, the truck started up and ran fine and put out full power.

Then I returned it back to stock to see if it would error. No errors.

So at least it APPEARS to be safe, but the INVALID FORMAT error is not very comforting. I would not recommend anyone doing this.

Next, I will fill my pockets with Milkbones and jump the fence into the yard with the big rottweiler.

I did mine without pulling the fuses and it did fine, no error message. I guess the question is do you have ONSTAR. If you have ONSTAR, then the fuses need to be pulled for sure. Plus make sure the radio is off and all doors are closed. It states that no accessories should be on. I don't have onstar so mine did fine. It was explained to me that onstar tries to take a download during the programming that causes it to hicup. The only problem I am having is setting the spedo correctly for my REVOs. So far the closest is to set it to 295/75/16. It is close now but a little off. i am going to try to set it to 293/75/16 and see if that fixes it on my way to Louisiana tomorrow.

I've also done it without pulling fuses. I've never had an error message. I always pull the fuses when uploading or downloading the factory tune. Just to be on the safe side. ):h

Mine only happened after I restored the stock program.

I also got the "Invalid Format" message last night when reloading the factory tune. It is a little comforting to know I'm not alone. The truck is going in for the A/C TSB fix, and I'm having them re-flash the PCM. Any idea what a reasonable charge for draining/refilling the rear end would be? I'm coming up on 10,000 miles and will either have them do it, or take a stab at it myself.

The "Invalid Frormat" error appears to be a minor bug that shows up after saving the stock and building the Diablo tune. Just push right past it and it will program fine. Future updates from Diablo should remedy this.

Do you think Predator will ever make a "HOT Race, or Extreme" tune? I have the 120hp programmer and love it, but always wonder if they will/are gonna come out with an even higher hp tune. Sorry for being a little off subject.

i have onstar, and have never pulled the fused when uploading a program. i have probably done it 6 or 7 times, but my onstar is inactive. i'm not saying it is right, but i have done it.

IIRC peanut butter works alot better than milkbones. I'll be interested to know how it comes out. ):h

Ok, here's my twist on this one.
I do have the On Star but I only pulled the regular fuses, not the On-Star related. It was my understanding that not pulling the On-Star fuses would only cause a problem if you got a call during upload. I modified the 40 HP tune for tire size, then prompted it to install the modified tune, then got the "invalid format" message. It then proceeded to upload the modified tune and I'm having no issues. Everything seems to be working fine. I did call Predator about the invalid format message, but they have not responded yet.
