Changing my oil today when somehow I fumbled the filler cap and it fell down behind the fan somewhere. Looked forever but I couldn't find it. Got a replacement cap at O'Reilly...Anyway, after I got the new cap on I drove the truck around the block to see if the old cap would fall out...well, I heard the fan, I'm guessing, throw it around a bit and a few pieces of the cap fell to the street. Runs fine now, just hope nothing is screwed up. Do you think everything is okay or should I be worried about anything?

Hey as long as there is now green stuff on the pavement you should be good. Just check the fan blades to make sure none are bent.

Now that I got some sleep and cleared my mind I should have said orange stuff, but oh well. No damage or leaks you should be good.

Yeah, I heard it jump around for a second again this morning on my way to work but everything seems okay. Hopefully it fell out!! No fluids on the ground or anything. I think it annoys me more than anything knowing it's in there!!

I'd take a minute or two to carefully check your serpentine belt to make sure it is properly aligned on the pulleys. It's smooth on one side (no problem) but runs on a bunch of little ridges on the other side and you want to make sure it's not "skipped" a ridge or two on the grooved pulleys because that will cause it to break at the most inopportune time possible due to Mr. Murphy's law.
