Just purchased my '02 EC/SB D/A. Happens to have come with chrome side skirts on the doors and rocker panels, which I think looks like a$$. Any tips on how to remove them with royally screwing up the paint underneath? 'Goo gone' or something of that ilk to try and loosen up the adhesive?

Said chrome side skirts will also be up for sale if/when I can get them off.

Heat gun, pliers to pull. Good luck, it is an awful job. You will need something to clean the glue up after as well. Hopefully they aren't stuck very good.

They will not be reusable.

As an afterthought, how much of a pain is it to paint chrome? If it's possible for the job to look decent it MIGHT be a simpler solution. Thoughts?

Remove it. You might be painting anyways ;)

A good body shop would likely do it for you for a couple hours labour.
