I wanted to see what kind of revs I could build with my new converter for a launch. Ebrake on, full down on the brake and eased on the throttle. I'm running on the Predator 85 HP setting. Around 2200 or so the rear tires broke loose, revs shot up and I lifted off the throttle fast. Bark, bark, bark. I thought these LLYs didn't bark?

I haven't run into a bark issue with the Pred yet.

Has the trans learned the new tune?

Anything with a turbo and no BOV will bark if you let up quickly when you're into it good. I bark mine quite often when working it hard 4x'ing through snow. You'd think I would learn.

Tranny is fairly good now. The 4-5 shift bumps a little, but is getting better all the time. I don't think I will load the 100HP tune till the weather breaks. I was running the 85 before I rebuilt the tranny and installed the new TC. I haven't barked the turbo shifting yet. Only on the fast lift.

Anyone else notice the 100 hp tune is a little noisy on the highway....or is it just my tuck? Its not near as bad as the bullydog but its still there...anybody else?

BTW, I just put the truck in 4x4 and tried again. Engine ramps smartly to about 2500 before you feel it cut back power on its own.

if i start down my hill, (extremely steep), with my tow/haul on, my truck seems to get what i think is a bark when shifting from 1st into 2nd. It only is a single bark and its not very loud. It also generally only happens when I let off the throttle once i hit 2nd. Whats the deal with the bark, is it bad, is it our trucks saying ouch? I saw on Trucks! the TV show something about building up all sorts of boost and pressure and letting off the throttle before the pressure is released, I wasnt paying too close attention but I thought he said it could cause something to go wrong, dont remember what.

sometimes i make my truck do it cuz i sounds cool. hold the brake and hold the throttle until right before the tires break loose and let off, then it does it real good. i think its just some sort of anti surge so it doesnt hurt the turbo..same thing that a blow off valve does.

The Edge/***. I could make make bark at will. 3-4 and 4-5 shifts would always give two barks. Havent heard a bark in a while with either the Predator or the PPE boxes.

There is NO 'blow off valve' on the LLY and anytime u hear the bark from letting off too fast your taking a chance on destroying the turbo on LB7 or LLY.

Go to truck pull and go to end of track, you'll hear a lot of barking.

But lots of the pullers like Tomac try to get out slow so it doesn't happen.

U know 'a turbo is a terrible thing to waste' ):h

is it worth it to install a blow off valve?

i know there is no BOV. it sure sounds sweet when it does it, i guess warranty would probably cover a blown charger. i trade every year so i kinda feel bad for the next guy that gets the truck
