I joined this website to ask all of you Duramax Lb7 guys about these products. I have an 04 Duramax and tow a 35' 5'er loaded with desert toys. Sunday coming back from Glamis, I was passed by a Superduty hauling a similar trailer...I noticed that he had the Banks emblem on his truck.
I am either going to install the Banks 6 gun with exhaust or the Edge with exhaust. I would like to hear what you feel are the pros and cons of each system on the duramax.
Thanks!!!!

I've had the edge for almost a year now.... Been pleased... Their customer service is extremely good. Towing is good, especially with the attitude....
If you are towing that big of a trailer and running the Juice, you will want a 4" exhaust to help with the EGT's as well as guages (EGT) IMHO.
I can't comment on the banks unit as I have not tried it nor have I been in a truck with one installed.
Hope this helps...
By the way...... Welcome to the board.... You'll find lots of useful info using the search feature...
I have a friend with the entire Banks system on his F350 and he loves it. I have an 03 Duramax and have the BD EZ AMP made by edge. It is the version 4.81 and offers 40-90 HP increases in four levels. I do not have the Attitude Monitor and am having the guages installed on Thursday. I too tow a 38 foot Sandpiper 5ver with 3 Sportsman 500 HO quads in the back. With the Juice set on level 2 it tows like a dream and even improved my gas mileage from about 8 MPG to 11-12 MPG. Truck stays in OD most of the time occassionally downshifting to fourth on steep hills. I have heard good things about both but I went with the edge due to the simplicity of taking it out when going to the stealer for warranty work. I still have the stock exhaust as a friend who works at a Diesel Shop here in Tucson say he put a stock GM Exhaust next to a Banks monster exhaust and the only difference is the Banks is a half on inch wider. He told me to keep my money and if I really wanted to improve the air flow was to change to a different muffler. I have no CAT. If you search around there are thousands of threads about both pros and cons. If you have the LLY I have heard lots of complaints with the edge tuning....Jim

Ive got the 6gun bundle, and so far its been good. Ive yet to pull my trailer with it, due to the snow here. From what others have said it makes a noticable difference;)
If your lookin to hotrod theres better than the banks out there for less$$
As far as tranny protection to avoid limping....HA yea right ive limped mine twice now-:t But it was probabley my own fault anyway:D Installation is really easy if you dont mind doing the work..mostly plug n play. levels 3n4 in town r fun. If your lookin for "SMOKE" its not here:( Level 6 gives a snort off the line but thats it. Hope this helps, and welcome to the site. The guys here are super helpfull, and the info thats allready here will keep you reading for DAAAAAYS

I'm running the Banks and love it. I can't comment on the Edge since I haven't been in a truck with one. Heading out to Ocotillo Wells myself this weekend and have never had a problem keeping up with anyone. Just problems getting around them.):h

have over 50,000 miles on my truck while running a Hot Juice ... have towed a heavy 33' camper for over 25,000 miles during that period ... performance has been excellent, no codes, very Allison friendly, no problems whatsoever

You won't go wrong with either, but I prefer the 6-gun.
