My brother is in the parts business, looks as is its my turn for hub assemblys. He can get me aftermarket ones made in china i believe...for $60 a piece. OE ones are very pricey as we know. I am thinking they will be juat as good since they offer the same warranty. Would you run them on your ride? He says he would put them on his truck. I was just wondering about quality. Since the GM ones seem to fail frequently maybe these won't?? I fugure while I am in there I might as well do new cv's and pads and rotors and be done with this for a while. Also how long should it take to replace the hub assemblys? My guess is 3 hrs per side? Thanks for the input!- moneypit:)

I would put them on. If they suck, big deal, they were cheap. If they work as well or longer, great you just got a sick deal on some wheel bearings. I dont know why you'd do your CV's unless something indicates that they need replacing. 3hrs per side should be more than enough time. 1 hr a side for the bearings.

Usually. But how about paying 300+ a piece for the bearings from the factory and having them last 50,000 miles. And then paying 150 and change for Timkens and having them last you 100,00 miles.

I went ahead and picked them up. They look fine to me, the box has a timken part # on it but the wheel studs are black..not sure why the difference? I fugured while I am in there I would do 2 new cv axles, pads and rotors and tierods since they are cheap. The whole deal set me back $375. Its about time my brother finally returns a favor! The markup on this stuff to the consumer is unbelievable. I got employee pricing wich they still make money on...My rig is almost paid for, but warranties sure are nice. Just not sure its worth more monthly payments especially with fuel prices and maintenance costs skyrocketing. Looks like I need to keep er for 4-5 more years. I will let you know how it goes. -Moneypit
