Has anyone used the thicker felpro head gaskets on a 6.5 to try to lower the compression any? I'm gathering parts and opions on this engine for a rebuild.

I have two sets on order of the .010" head gaskets. I tried to get a set of ARP headstuds and everyone's reponse was "they don't make 'um" I called ARP but they left me hanging on the phone for half an hour and I still know nothing about it, so I ordered two sets of felpro headbolts for ~$55 usd. Headbolts.com had them for $2 cheaper.

ARP used to have a listing for the 6.2/6.5 head studs. Haven't seen a catalog in a few years however. Penninsular diesel is probably another good choice, I'm not sure but they might use them in their twin turbo 400 hp application.:)

check with John Kennedy Kennedy Diesel- he supplied the studs when i did my rebuild. Cant remember what brand they are, but they hold up under 20+ lbs of boost!

ARP PN# 130-4062, $142 usd a set plus $7 for thread lock from summit. Good thing I got the part number or summit couldn't help me and I would have paid the $225 to JK for them.
