Guys,

I am working through a No-Start problem. I decided to replace the crank position sensor (CPS) more as prevantative maintenance than actually expecting it to cure the problem.

Anyhow, I removed the bolt holding the tab, and was using a screwdriver to pry out the sensor when the metal tab broke clean off of it. The sensor will rotate and come maybe a fat 32nd out of the hole, but thats it. It seems like maybe the O-ring has swelled up and will not let it come loose.

There is not enough sticking out to get a good grip on, and I already pulled the wires out of it trying to get it loose. I even tried drilling a pilot hole in it and threading a screw into the plastic to give me something to grab onto.

WTF am I missing here? Any ideas on how to get it out? I worked on it off and on for 4 days now with no results.

Thanks!
Tim

It's 3" long drill a screw into it and pull it out. Nothing holding it 'cept the suction on the o-ring. Mine did the same thing, but I was able to wrap the wires around my hand and pull it out.

mine did the same thing. i think i used a big wood screw and a pair of pliers to liberate the sensor. don't give up.

same here, big wood screw and a pair of pliers does the trick every time.

Sounds like a drill and and easyout would work too.

its plastic you don't need to drill. the hole where the wires supposed to come through is all the start you need. go with the screw.
