I was digging around under the hood of my wife’s Dmax yesterday and came across this. I do not know what it is but it looks like a power hunger thing-a-ma-jig. Can anyone tell me what it is?

I think that would be the intake air heater - works in concert with the glow plugs..

Oh, it only works when the glow plugs are on, on start. It must be one heck of a heater!

I had a problem with mine and it set a code - dealer replaced it.....Its suppose to turn on/off automaticly when the intake air and coolant are below certain temperatures
