I am planning on purchasing a bus for hauling snowmobiles ect. I saw a few with a DT466 or a DT360. I was wondering if they were any good and if their were any performance upgrades I could do? turbo ect.
Thanks!

Those are International/Navistar motors. Go with the DT466-very good motor.
There are performance upgrades you can do, depending on which version you get. The mechanical fuel pump version can be adjusted, or if you have elecrtronic fuel pump, I would say you could buy a chip. Turbos should be available as well. I know some pretty awesome super-stock pulling tractors use DT-466 motors.

DT466 is a good stout motor. I havn't run into any DT360's.

I would stay away from the DT-360 as they are underpowered. That DT-466 is one hell of motor. It is the best medium duty engine every built

Hi,

And the DT466 is also an awesome at starting in extreme cold , if you forget to plug it in, or if the power should happen to fail. Not a problem, they will start!!

Take care and keep us posted!!

The DT466 is not a Detroit Diesel .. it is a International Navistar...

Great motor... stay away like other have said from the 360 ...

The 466 runs up to I believe 250hp model...

466 i think upto 300 hp on the newer versions depends on how high you want to go. they are bullet proof if such a term ever exhisted.
