I left from St. Clair, Michigan this past Thursday pulling a four-place enclosed snowmobile trailer. About 250 miles into the trip with cruise on 80 mph and Attitude level 2, the truck's engine shut off without warning. The truck would not restart without turning the truck off and pulling the key.

I put a call into On-Star diagnostics and they told me not to drive the truck, and that I had cylinders down. Not driving the truck was not an option for us, so we started it and it ran fine without the Juice for the rest of the trip. When we tried powering up the Juice on any level 1-5, the truck had a slight miss on even the slightest incline.

Any words of advice? I don't have a way of retrieving the codes. My engine light stayed on for the rest of the trip. I hate the thought of taking my truck to the dealer with all of the work I've had done.

Call edge, they will send you a new box.

just to clarify for my own personal interest...when your truck died did you remove the Edge all together or just run it on Level Zero? (which is stock setting)

thanks

I called Edge and they want the error codes. So, it looks like I'm on my way to the dealer to get the codes. I didn't remove the chip, I just set it to level 0-stock level.

If you have a Autozone or another auto parts store in your area they may read the codes and clear them for free.

Mine did the exact same thing, driving on I-80 cruise set at 80mph pulling a horse trailer, edge on level 2 truck just died, we had to pull over and pull key out before the truck would restart. Onstar couldn't find any problems, the check engine light stayed on until the next day and then was gone. This was ~ a month ago, hasn't happened again. I haven't taken it in to see if there are any codes.
