Well, went in for my (non scheduled) 1000 mile oil change this morning.

Service rep was nice enough.
$60 including tax, with 10% off coupon.
Didn't reset oil filter life; I did that myself but whatever.
Had them check for the oil leak at the bellhousing, no problems found there.

I did ask about programmers. He said that he had seen at least one service claim denied because of them. I couldn't get him to say which one they would "approve" he obviously had been coached or was rightfully being cautious. He did say to "be careful" if I did it.

Anyway probably go back next time. Onstar says to expect another oil service at 17,500 miles :)

Yep they are definitely cracking down on the programmers and denying warranty coverage. The newer engines now keep track of power upgrades and when you go in for coverage they deny warranty coverage for everything. You have to think what you want to have (mods or warranty).
