: ???? About Transmission Slip

I have an 04LLY four wheel drive crew cab. The truck has a 4 inch Rancho lift with 285 tires. I have the edge juice/***. set to level 3 and defueling all shifts. The truck currently has 20,000 miles. While driving around at 59 mph according to speedo, 65 mph on attitude adjusted for tire size. I experience what I would call slip in the transmission feels like a shudder or slight hesitation. When this happens the slip display will also flash .6 to .8 percent. These are only momentary flashes but it is definetly felt in the vehicle. This seems to mostly happen when driving up a slight to moderate grade while utilizing cruise control. Is this the beginning of some transmission problems. At all other times when the t/c is locked I get a reading of 0% slip. I do not abuse this truck and only occassionally tow my boat. Do I need to set the power back or just turn it off completely. Will it only get worse. Am I doing damage already to the tranny. I had hope to get on honest 100,000 miles before upgrading the tranny. Sorry for the long post and so many questions. Before anyone tells me what a fool I am for believing I could get 100,000 miles on my tranny with added power, SAVE IT.

Does this only happen on level 3? Also does it only happen with the cruise? This does sound similar to a previous discussion. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16130

IMO I suspect that the EDGE magnifies some computer glitches that might not be noticed when it isn't installed in the truck.

Thank you for the reply and i reviewed the thread. I have the latest flash and dont believe this is engine related. At the time you feel the hesitation or slip the attitude will also display transmission slip. I am going to go back to level 1 for awhile and see if I experience this same thing. I just do not want to upgrade the trans until it needs it.

I hear you there. I'm saving my $$ for an upgrade hopefully by next year I'll have it. I just hope the stock tranny hold out until then. Keep us posted on your results on level 1. I've been running mine on 3 with a couple of level 5 bursts for the SOOT factor (some people just deserve it ):h ). Good luck.
