awhile back i had to replace my fuel filter canister because it was leaking really bad into the valley of the block i could never see where it was leaking....what do i need to replace or fix to get rid of this problem. because i would rather have the original fuel filter canister in my truck.

when i changed mine i had the same problem at first. check to make sure the rubber gasket is there and i had to tighten mine as tight as i could than use a hammer and a flat head and tap it on the side to tighten it more to stop the leak

A couple of things to look for 1> make sure the largest slot is aligned with the cap and 2> a wix filter never leaded on me, but I could never get a purolator filter to tighten up properly. 3> make sure the old o-ring and metal gasket came off the filter. Should be able to hand tighten.

Is it possible that the hose clamps near the bottom of housing need to be tightened? X2 on checking to see if you have 2 o-rings instead of just one.

when it was still on my truck i replaced all the lines and put dual clamps on each end of each line.....ill have to go through my garage and find the canister and then look at the o-rings

We recentely had to face a leak at the fuel canister. First we thought it was the fuel heater O-ring, then we realized it was the fuel heater by itself.
ULSD being too "dry" compared to old fuel, the inside gaskets of the fuel heater are drying and leaks, the mechanic said...

Same on mine. Also installed new fuel hoses and clamps. One 3/8 inch hose (to inlet) and two 1/4 inch hoses ( to IP and T-valve).
