Well, it seems that the verdict is in, Banks 6 Gun for LLY needs serious help. I managed a best of 15.855 at 83.368mph at LACR-:t I'm calling Banks first thing tomorrow morning getting my money back!!! I was guided to a Predator 100HP tune(thanks McRat) and it ran a best of 15.682 at 90.580mph. Not to mention it cost a whole lot cheaper as well. Well, there you have it. Anyone wanting to get the Banks for the LLY, you know what it will perform(btw, my truck is 2wd). And as far as "protecting the tranny", I'm my way back going up a small hill, it limped the tranny under normal driving conditions on level 4!!!:mad: So much for their "tranny protection". I know what system I'll be getting when I ditch the banks!;) I also have the speedloader!!

Definitely not worth the cash you throw into something when the bottom line is not even close to what they claim. I'll keep you posted though. Yea, what Kat said. I ran the Predator(Thanks, McRat;) ) on my truck(the same one that ran the 15.8** with the Banks) and pulled the 15.682 time with 7 more mph's through the 1/4. No suprise here, Banks needs to get some real world testing going on!!!:eek:

Im currenty looking for a Duramax, im leaning toward an LB7, just because people is saying better boost, and more power, which is weird with the diffrent power numbers?? You would think 70 more tq would make a diffrence!

seems funny slower, less powerful banks limps the tranny while the more powerful tunes do not, sounds like they may have some issues that need fixed still doubt that any one is really defueling due to actual slip maybe the tuner is detecting something that is not actually happing since banks defuels on 3% slip and allison goes into limp mode at 5% (right?) how many LLY owners have set there SES light? with what tunes? however if it where slipping the resulting defeuling would be why you have slower 1/4 times with the banks. keep us posted

I got a big package in the mail from Banks yesterday, it was all the latest propaganda from banks, one thing I did find interesting was a max of 124hp and 303 ft-lbs listed for the LLY w/ speedloader. Yet on the front of the little brochure it still says 155/385 but on a graph inside it shows those #'s as being for LB7 motor.....

The predator is on top right now in my opinion for the lly crowd. That will probably change as soon as tts has a production release of lvl2 and definitely lvl3! Don't be so depressed about getting an lly...the lb7 is out of production...the lly will catch up soon!!! Heck...one of the members here has twins on his lly(stefan) without setting any codes. Things are going to get extremely interesting in the next year I have a feeling!

I guess patience pays off in the long run. I don't think the Banks is slipping in the 1/4, but it's definitely not up to par with the competition . Only a matter of time til all the bugs are worked in the real world.

So what is the best way to launch to minimize your times. Not thinking it's idle to floored, but some RPM increase then brake release and throttle feathering. Does installing a new controller change this?

Slipping on level 3? That's only an additional 50hp with speedloader for the LLY. Something is not adding up here.
