Ok heres the deal. read this thread http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22398

i am assuming my problem is now in the BCM. here are my questions....
1)Can a BCM go bad or be messed up from the GMDLBP interface which connects to pin 2 on the OBDII port. this module was used to control the doorlocks and oem security.
2)If something in them is messed up can they be reset or reflashed somehow?
3)If i hafta replace it what am i looking at. can a BCM off any DMAX that has PW,PD work or does it hafta be specific like having to come off a crew cab?
4)How much does one cost..new and used?

Shew, sorry for all the questions but im just tryin to see where i am.

Thanks
Ry

A replacement BCM will have to be flashed by GM I do believe.Do you think you shorted the BCM to make it go bad?

A BCM can be bought at RockAuto at a fairly decent price.

The BCM on my 2003 CC D/A went bad and always said the rear left door was ajar. Fixed under warranty but when the bill was signed, I thought I saw a price of $400+ for the BCM itself - don't have the invoice handy or I'd tell you for sure what the dealer said it was worth. Didn't take them very long to fix once they had the part in hand.

i used a "T" connector the interfaced the ignition wire plug that plugged in underneath the ignition switch. i noticed at one time the other night that the brown wire came unhook from the factory plug. i cant remember for sure what the brown wire was. could it be possible that one of the wires in this harness could not be gettin connection (such as accessory) and causing the symptoms that i am seeing.

Max Power, thanks for all your help. i dont know where i went wrong, but hey, it happens. I am still think something fishy was goin on with the GMDLBP. like when the led was stuck on and the remote start remotes would not unlock my doors but the factory remote would. then one i pressed the program button on it, the light went off and the remotes would work again. this happened 2 or 3 times.

Ryan, you can't just go out and buy a BCM. It will not work. It will need to be flashed. Also, there is no guarnatee that the BCM is bad. You need to have it diagnosed. If you do not have the ability to do it, you are going to have to find someone who can. (GM dealership)

Are you under warranty? Unless you did some funky wiring, I really doubt this is Remote start related.

ITS WORKING AND I DONT WANNA TELL YALL WHAT I DID. STUPID MISTAKE but im sure youll get a good laugh outta it. but im just a rookie on the remote starters so youll hafta excuse me. anyhow when i took the OBD port loose to tap into one of the wires i somehow got one of the wires caught as i was screwin it back up. so the wire was just barely grounded out...the worse it became ground the more things that went wrong with the truck. the good thing is...it didnt cost a thing. my buddy works at a stealer and he did it all in their shop after they were closed. SHEW thank god

Good news. I got your message BTW. You're lucky to get away so cheap. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but with something like this you more or less just have to go through the process. At least you learned from it. :)

Ryan, in one of your posts above you mentioned using a "T" connector. I'm not sure if you are talking about a Scotchlock connection, but all your connections should be soldered to guarantee reliability.

Glad to hear you didn't fry anything!

the "T" actually intercepts the ignition wiring plug with a male and and then give you a female end to reconnect to the plug right underneath the ignition switch. thus keeping you from having to cut on your factory wires.

Had to have my BCM re-flashed when the door locks, windows, instrument gages quit working while i was on a trip. Stealer told me that some codes got corrupted somehow. They downloaded new program from GM and installed. That was about 15,000 miles ago, @20,000, and no problems since that was done.
35,000 now and that is the only problem i have had.
