: Predator Question again
Brutis 01-24-2005, 01:20 AM What does the "speed limit" change do and when would you use it? This is one of the perameter changes that can be made on modifing tunes on the predator. Factory is 95 and you can go as high as 120 . Just curious............Thanks Rick
tbone1227 01-24-2005, 01:51 AM it raises the top speed at which the vehicle can travel. stock they have a governor of sorts that wont let it get past 95-98 mph IIRC, by using a programmer you can remove that governor and really get movin
Brutis 01-24-2005, 02:28 AM tbone1227........Thanks, I know what I'm gonna do. I feel the need for speed!!!!!...........Rick
robby 01-24-2005, 03:01 AM how well does it work on the speedo change and is that the best way to do it.
tbone1227 01-24-2005, 12:03 PM when you say speedo change are you talking about correcting for tire size ? if you have different size tires than stock go into modify tune, set the original tire size then set the tire size you have and install modified tune - you might have to check the mph against a gps to ensure its correct and might have to alter the tire size you input a bit to get it dead on - i have 315/75/16, and i set it on 314/74/16 and its dead on according to the gps. Hope that helps

robby 01-24-2005, 05:46 PM and is the info on the dic all good doing it programmer and how well does it run what setting are you on.
thanks
NCMIC 01-24-2005, 05:55 PM what about setting the tire sizes for the 285 / 75 /16. i have set mine for it and don't know ifit is dead on yet. i will play with it later on, but when my wife followed me, it was off a bit.
Pro400exc 01-25-2005, 12:58 PM If your runnin stock tires the truck will only do about a Buck ten or a buck twelve..the stock revlimiter still holds her back from a buck twenty...but w/ bigger tires she will prolly do that...
NCMIC 01-25-2005, 11:38 PM Well today I set my tires to the 295/75/16 for spedo calibration and it brought me close. I will try the 293/75/16 to see if it gets dead on. This might help those that buy the Brodgestone REVOs 285/75/16 tires for setting it with the Predator. I will update everyone on wheat I find.
whityinfl 01-26-2005, 09:24 AM I was wondering about something.....
Not that I think this is a cool thing to do.....but can you change the tire size to a ridiculous size to fool the odometer? If so, you could keep the factory warranty for the full 3 years. Anyone know?
NCMIC 02-03-2005, 06:46 PM yes you can. you could probably set it much smaller and the miles will not rack up as quickly. but keep in mind, you'll be reading slower than you are actually going, speedo wise. Which will slow the accumulation on the odometer.

BEST to use a GPS unit on a straight run, for the most accurate readings.
Just my 2Cents!:blahblah:
NCMIC 02-03-2005, 07:32 PM ok, maybe i can borrow a gps unit from someone or get one for my laptop.
