i started to order a billit one for it, but then thought it would look killer if i painted it white to match the truck, how hard is it to do this??? i guess sand it some, primer, then paint....but what kinda spray paint should i get?? should it be gloss or get plain, then clearcoat it???? thanks

It's not too hard, as for paint try Krylon Fusion:cool: It works pretty good on plastic

Take it off. Scuff with a red or grey scothbright shoot couple light coats of adhesion promoter and then shoot your base/clear. Very simple and it looks clean...

I'm painting mine tommorow. I already sanded it, will I be ok with grey primer, and then the DupliColor paint? Thanks.

so i'll sand it down, then some adhesion promotor, then what type of spray paint??? just the paint right, no need for a paint, then a seprate clearcoat???

Mine is silver. Had my whole grill painted to match the truck and figured a silver bowtie would look cool.

Depends on the overall look you want, most just sand and spray but I would recomend light sanding then adhesion promoter then paint. no clear coat neccessary, but if you want a little shine and extra durability the clear coat won't hurt.

hmm.. wonder if i can find a storm grey to match my '02..?
anyone ever paint their parking/running light lenses..? i've seen a couple trucks with "smoked" style lenses.. not sure if they are aftermarket lenses (i cant seem to find any) or painted..?

i sanded mine with 600 grit then 1200 grit. i put a coat or two of primer on it then hit it with 4 coats of rustolium indoor outdoor paint. i am hoping that this stuff is a little strunger and will help prevent chipping but time will tell:rolleyes:

Painted the grill black to match and left the bowtie gold. Wasn't much to it. I think it looks pretty sick w/ the black replacement bumper.

Thanks Hammer 4. I ended up sanding mine, then shot it with some grey primer, and then olympic white DupliColor paint. I got my Dad to spray it becasue I wanted it to look good.
