Ok guys so im a bit concerned. I jumped the gun and went to NTB and they sold me a set of BFG A/T's LT 285/75R16 122R D.

I have a 2007.5 Silverado 2500HD Dmax (LMM), C/C, S/B 4x4.

They installed them and put the back tire's at 80psi and the fronts at 60psi.

The TPMS seems to be reading them fine but my concern is that i've been reading and the max on these tire's is 65psi???? Also i read that these tire's only fit rims 7.5" and wider? I have the stock 16" rims that had 245/75R16's on it.

Am I freaking out over nothing or is there an area of concern here?

THanks guys.

I believe the 285's are a "d" rated tire which usually is in the 65psi range. At the bare minimum, I would lower the rear to 60. That's a little too much for a D rated tire. I have the 265's in the "E" rating which are 80psi and I run mine at 65 front and 60 rear. The 285 carries more floatation so you don't need to run such a high pressure. What are you towing?

Dont worry about the tire being to wide for the rim, those are just suggestions. Lots of 285 are run on the factory wheels. 315 are often run on them too, with no problems.

As of right now im not towing anything, eventually might be something maxing out around 7000 lbs, i may rarely haul about 2 tons of rock in a dump trailer as well. Eitherway it only gets driven about 25 to 40 miles a week. I have a company vehicle that gets the work out. I was just worried about abnormal wear i really dont want these going bald in 10k miles. Ok so i'll have the TPMS reprogrammed to what you guys think? 60 psi for the rear and then just run them at 60 to 65? So definantly get them dropped and not keep them at 80?

THanks
