I just bought a 2004 lb7 chevy duramax 4x4 after a short stint with a 2005 dodge cummins. Glad to be back with the civilized truck croud. Anyway I had a 2003 lb7 gmc and ran the hypertech tuner and was tickled with it. I know that the the juice seems to be a big hit around here, but for me not towing anything, and liking the simplicity of the plug in tuners, which of these two would you guys recommend? Hyper or super? Thanks!!!

I think there both about the same but if you had good luck and liked the hypertech, stick with it.

Not to change the subject but why did you not like the dodge/cumins

Since you have first hand knowledge between the two makes do you have any comments/observation's between the 2 ? Your like and dislikes.

Thx

The chevy product is a much more refined product than the dodge. In 7000 miles the dodge seemed to be falling apart. Weatherstripping falling off, rattles that kept coming back after the dealer made an attempt to fix them. The ride is terrible compared to the chevy. The road noise is much more evident in the dodge. I could never get use to the seat in the dodge, after a few hours my legs would go to sleep. I had the power seats and tried every position possible and could never get it right. Off road the suspension in the big dodge made it pretty tough to get up off camber uneven tracked hills that the chevy goes right up without a blink. Its to stiff. The limited slip in the dodge is all but worthless. Again the chevy rear end seems to lock up much better. Dodge boys will tell you to ride the brake to get more action in the rear, yeah right, not where i go. I about killed myself trying that one out. My dodge had the 6 speed .After a test drive with the dodge auto and laughing hard, i thought i could get use to shifting all the time. I couldnt. After driving all of the diesel autos i have concluded that the dodge 48re has to be the most inefficient auto made. It has a terrible feel to it. The 6 speed on the other hand is pretty fun to drive for awhile until your phone rings and you have a sandwich in the other hand. The good about the dodge, it has more luggable lowend power , and handles heavy payload better. Yup thats about it. I think most guys who buy a dodge diesel cant afford the chevy/gm line or are diehard cummins men. Live and learn.

I think the hypertech would be better if your looking for towing performance. If I recall, the superchip can only be towed with the 60 or so horsepower setting, where the hytech says you can use all three settings. Also, a banks rep at hot august nights in Reno, Nevada this year told me the super chip is bad for just "pooring fuel" with no regards to safe egt's, ect. He was selling them both, because he had too, but he pretty much said stay away. Keep in mind this is just what he was telling me. How well did the hytech run in your 03? Did you notice quite a bit of difference? Also, does that programmer work on you 04? Or did you get rid of it with the truck? Anyway, just my two cents worth. Have a good one!

The hypertech on my 03 was incredible. Unfortunately i sold it with the truck. Turned a 3/4 ton truck into a sports car. I ran it for 30,000 miles and it never missed a beat.

I would get the hypertech if I were you. You will be happier with the drivability on the hypertech, We also happen to carry them in stock. Thanks John

I picked up 1 mpg and ran the tuner on the 90 horse setting.
