: Fuel Filter Change on DIC / PCM
05DMAX 01-23-2005, 02:24 PM Truck was just at the dealer last week and they installed a new program into the ECM that tells when to change the fuel filter on the DIC, similar to the oil i guess. Do any of you techs out there know anything about this. Also, how can i reset this when it pops up, i dont want to have to go the the dealer everytime it comes up. If there isnt a way for me to reset it, im not gonna want it on there at all.
BTW, Truck needs a new PCM, when the tech installed this new program, the battery not charging light came up and he checked everything out, everything was fine. So new PCM is ordered, its gonna have to be pulled from the factory since its so new. The dealer still didnt really know what i was talking about on the reflash, so i guess a new PCM is gonna be the way im getting my reflash. Hopefully, this takes care of the problems i had before. Cant wait til it comes in, havent had the edge on for like over a month now.
Also, they left a sheet of paper in my truck, its some program called TIS 2000 - Service Programming System. It has the following numbers listed: 15228758, 15246466, 15233731, 15233723, 15233737, 15233749. Anyone know what these mean and what this program is?
Max Power 01-23-2005, 04:25 PM That battery charging light is a common occurance with the reflash. When they order a new pcm and update it to the latest flash it will do the same thing again.

.Alright, last time i brought in a sheet like that to the dealer (printed out from this forum regarding the reflash) the tech said he doesnt know what those numbers are (#PIP####) and has never seen them before. I know if i bring this in he'll look at me like wtf. So I still dont think i have the reflash and therefore nothing has been done for the "engine missing" i experienced. He claims that he installs the newest stuff when he hooks up the tech 2, but never says anything about any specific thing that was installed. What can i do about this, is the document a real GM TSB? What is the #PIP#### thing, they had no idea what those numbers were when i first brought it in regarding the reflash
Is there some offical form of this someone can scan so i can print out a real copy to give them (about the charging light and the reflash)?
I think this dealer is clueless.
Can I Call that tech number and get anything accomplished or is that just for the dealer?
One more thing, so pretty much that doesnt suggest any repair, you have to call the number for what to do? What must be done to correct it then?
Kennedy 01-23-2005, 05:51 PM Your tech should be smart enough to call the Techline # and present the conditions listed above. The Techline is going to ask for name and dealer code.
I bumped my earlier thread...
What's missing from the copy/paste above is this:
<TABLE width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD align=left width=778>GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. 05DMAX 01-24-2005, 03:14 AM So can I just have to dealer remove the new fuel filter program?
Also, anyone know how to reset the change fuel filter message, if they do figure it out and keep it on there?
05DMAX 01-24-2005, 08:19 AM Yup just as i thought, "we dont know of anything like that."
I'm so frustrated with this dealer!!!!
so for sure these are real TSBs from GM that any dealer should be able to access?? Everytime ive brought one in it has represented the exact problems ive had but they cant find them.
