Hi folks. I am going to be installing my guages from Heath on Mon and have a few questions. I will be receiving them later today. I have read a few threads but still ask for your advice. The pyro will be pre-turbo. If I pull the turbo to drill do I need a new gasket? Are the bolts easy to get off? Does it take long? Can I get away with drilling the hole with alot of grease and or having the truck running and not pull the turbo?
The boost install same questions. Do I need a new gasket if I pull the plenum? Do they usually come off easy? Can I just drill with alot of grease without worry?
Is the wiring job very easy with the kit from Heaths?
Thankyou for your replies.

You could easily get away with drilling the pyro without much to worry about. You have to pull the intake plenum off though, sometimes the gasket comes off in one piece, but best to have a new one and just replace it.

I didn't do mine in the truck when I noticed how short my die cutters handle was. At the time I'd had my turbo/exhaust out 4-5 times but the first time it was a pita breaking the bolts loose, but once their out and spryed with penatrating oil they'll come out again much easier the next time. You can also coat then with anti-sieze thread coat.

I was able to drill mine in the truck by attaching the tap to a socket extension then to the T handle.

im fixing to do this also.I really dont want to have to pull the turbo off.I would think if you did this while the truck was runing the shavings would be getting blown away while you are drilling.Since the air would be moving so fast i wouldnt think it would allow the shavings to get to big,and just blow out the pipe??
I know i'll have to pull off the intake in order to drill for the boost, but if all possible i would like to avoid pulling the turbo off.

Drill & tap while idling cold, I installed one on a DMAX this way worked well make sure eyes are protected though chips may fly, go slow don't force bit you don't want to feed the turbo a chunk of broken off drill bit, turbos don't digest tool steel well.

Thanks everybody for your replies. I am going to start tomorrow. I am just missing the exhaust probe in my kit so I am going to phone tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice.
