Hey Guys,
I am interested in doing some more work on my truck but am unsure what to do next. I am torn between doing a Cognito Leveling lift, a chip/tuner. or an aftermarket Exhaust Manifold or something else. What should I go with next. I dont think I can afford to do all of them right now, but would be interested in spending $1,000 or less.. I have everything in my signature that I have done so far to the truck. What else should I be looking to do to improve performance/mileage/image. I appreciate any input.

I would get a programmer to adjust the settings of the truck, you can get more performance and better mileage! WHEN YOUR NOT HEAVY INTO THE PEDAL !! You prolly could get the leveling kit at the same time, depending on the programmer that you got!

Reroute your PCV!! Costs all of about $25 max, and takes you about 30 minutes.

Water/meth injection will get you a good oomph of power for about $400 +/-... plus keep your EGT's low. Gauges would be good too... mounts, gauges, etc. for around $250. Finally, if you're running more power, there are several tranny mods that vary from $80 up to $2000 (or more) that'll keep your power making it to the rear wheels safely.

Good luck!

I would recommend programming for a couple of reasons:
1. Better mileage
2. Need for speed

Why do I need to do the PCV Reroute? I am very engine stupid and do not even know what this does, so a little background info would be very helpful.
What route should I go in the way of gauges? Brand, overhead vs A pillar?
Thanks.

PCV reroute keeps engine oil mist from getting shoved into your intercooler. The PCV dumps oil mist directly into the turbo, which then coats everything downstream from the turbo with oil. The result is oil leaking from the intercooler boot, and under some conditions, your intercooler boot will blow off while you're running down the road. Rerouting the PCV eliminates that problem.

As for gauges, I don' think you can go wrong with Autometer. At a minimum, you should look at an EGT gauge. Lots of guys also put a boost gauge in too, though it's not really necessary, unless you're working to generate big HP. A truthful coolant temp gauge would be a good idea too (you do know that your factory coolant gauge lies, don't you?).

You definitely want to look at a tuner. DiabloSport Predator is what I use. Not as flexible as some, but it's a good place to start.

Thanks for the advice Randy. Is the Reroute pretty simple?

My vote is for a tuner. Once you put it on,you'll be getting TERRIBLE mileage for a while though b/c the new found power is ADDICTING :D .

I would say gauges too (especially if you tow much),but if you buy an Edge Juice w/ ***. or some of the Banks' tuners they have built in gauges.

Yep. Look in this section (2nd generation LLY) and search for PCV reroute - you'll see my discussion in someone else's thread. Also, you can look in my garage. Cheap and easy (30 minutes max).
