I don't want to nuke a engine over a cheap part that I could've/should've put in. NVW 03-03-2008, 02:03 PM This is just a suggestion. If it's just occasional pulling the stud girdle would probably be enough and cheaper and easier. The machine shop has to drill and tap the outer two main bolts (the short ones) at a angle into the thicker part of the main block web. then it needs either line bord or honed depending on how far off the new caps are.$$$$$ I'm interested in this also as im trying to make up my mind. I'm leaning to the girdle I think. My ex bro-in-law has a reputable machine shop in the area and I still get some deals from him, so I'd have him do the machine work for me. Just guessing, but I bet I could get splays fairly cheap too! He's got a place in Chicago where I could have the comb. chamber area of the head ceramic coated at a good price as well. | ||
