MPL897, I think you will find most people on this site use upper cover only, I live in a much colder climite and never use the bumper cover.

The lower half only restricts intercooler air.I only run the top as so to restrict the rad.

Not to mention when I went and changed my lower dam to Piaa lamps ,I couldn't get the bumper cover on even if I dam wanted to! :D

I only run the grill cover in the winter. I've never even tried the bumper cover to see how it fits.

I've never bothered with the lower cover. IMHO it requires too much hassle for too little gain - AND - it has been proven by other users to be a salt/grime trap that leads to damage and rust to the bumper and trim.

The first season I had my truck, I installed the bumpre cover. I followed the instructions of removing it after 30 days and washing the cover and the bumper. To my amazement, there was rust on the exterior of the bumper in the corners under the grille. I cleaned it up to the best of my ability. Well...I left the cover off, but as time progressed that winter, the bumper pitted at those rust spots and the chrome started peeling. So I take it to the stealer, and am informed by the Service Manager that the rust was caused by lack of care.Censored So, here I am with a rusted out bumper and am totally SOL.:( Thinking of contacting a lawyer now because 2 seasons later it's really getting bad!

Please...Do Not Use The Bumper Cover!!!

Upper only also. The lower was too much of a PITA.

I use only the grille cover. My truck has seen -50 this year and no problems. Just a long time to warm up. At that point no vehicle really wants to warm up. Thats when I use the add-on heated seats.

The lower looks like a PITA. Never tried it. I've been keeping an eye out and am suprised how many people with diesels in general don't run a winter cover in MN.

Ditto!

The only time my lower cover was on was last year when I took delivery of the truck from the dealer.

I listened to everybody here explain what a pain it was to put on the first time, so I let the dealer do it in the warm body shop.

Then as Tom said, it traps dirt and salt like a magnet. Now, the upper stays in the truck and the lower is in my garage.

Cloud rider front (acts like the upper cover), plus the cloud rider lower covers (just to make it all look uniform). As someone else stated, it is amazing the number of people who don't bother with the winter fronts.

I am running a LUND solid stainless front cover, very similiar to the Cloud Rider.

IMHO it is easier and better than the OEM cover and looks nicer too.

It really helps.........as far as the lower cover............I see no benifit to running it even at 0 degrees out.

Upper cover, just installed Yesterday, as I just got it from Ebay. Just in time, coldest it's been all year here. Lower cover would require removal of brush guard/light bar and that ain't happenin'.

I guess I'm the oddball out, I run the upper and lower cover. I do take both covers off and clean everything up every 7-10 days though. Once you get the lower on a few times, it's not as bad as the first time, or ten. That said, I do notice a difference with the lower & upper on compared to just the upper. What's odd is that on the highway the truck starts to cool down and drop in temp (both trans and water temp), where with the bumper cover on it'll stay warmed up on both counts. I'm typically on the highway doing 65-75 unladen (laden I remove the covers) for about an hour and a half to two and a half hours at a shot, with some trips being closer to the 3+ hour mark stuck in stop and go.

I too use both. Find all temps stay closer to normal with both on. At -35c truck neeeds all the help it can get. Install of the bumper cover gets easier after a couple of times.

I use the upper cover. I made a cover for the bottom holes out of thick rubber.

Upper only, even at -30. It starts out in the garage though and we run a front plate up here... PITA to install/remove the lower cover with a front plate!

Just the upper cover - I too had heard of the rusty bumper problem.
