: Looking @ Trading Up
vtdiesel 02-29-2008, 07:31 AM Looking at going to an 06 from my current 01.
Interested in some input on that year.
The 01 is a basic work horse w/150K on it.
4wd extended cab, LS model.
The 06 is a 4-door crew w/plow and 60K.
The 06 is also an LT w/cloth, Bose and alot of other bells/whistles I'm not used too.
Seems to be a nice truck and I think the price their asking is good but I'd feel better getting a little input from those who know.
Thanks.
lb7_lipe 02-29-2008, 10:08 AM Sounds like an upgrade to me the 06's are my favorite by far!
Dwill3015 02-29-2008, 10:32 AM I thoroughly enjoy my 06. Only good things to say about it!
woodchuck2 03-01-2008, 08:32 PM I really like my 06 and have had few problems so far, i will let you drive mine sometime if you like. Good fuel milage "depending on weather", great power "especially with the tuner", updated injectors and the tranny problems "Neutral safety BS switch" have been taken care of. It is also quieter too.
vtdiesel 03-02-2008, 05:51 AM Dealer called, said we're all set...come on down and sign.
(happy me)
But, as usual, he didn't mention the 'extra' little bit more down payment he wanted and of course never mentioned the payment was $200 more a month than what I said I'd do when we had last spoke.
We played the game for awhile, he'd go into the 'big' office, come back out, go back in...etc but never really gave back anything, it's all a show.
So I passed.
It was a great truck and I would of bought it in a second had he not pulled that crap.
It all reinforces my dislike for car salesmen and their style of doing business.
Thing is, they would of made at least 3K/4K on mine reselling it.
You know they were making the same on the used one I wanted, even so he wasn't able to make it work.
woodchuck2 03-02-2008, 08:08 PM He is just to greedy to make a sale, sucks to be him. Yours still has alot of life yet, run it. When your done with it i will buy your H2's,LOL.

I know the nice improvement for the 06 is the injectors easier to change (not under the valve cover) if you do have a problem with them.I love my 07 lbz. So good luck either way remember newer (not paid for) isnt always better
vtdiesel 03-03-2008, 06:44 PM For kicks I looked at the web site of the place I bought my 01 originally to see what they had.
Well, now I'm driving an 05 GMC 4x4 crew. :D
Definetly an upgrade IMO.
Way more bells and whistles than my 01, gotta get out the owners manual to figure it all out.
Pics later, just got home with it and it's dark.
woodchuck2 03-03-2008, 07:23 PM Congrats on the new ride, hopefully i get to see it in the spring.

Absolutely.
I wanna play with some mods on this one too and you can help me with that if your willing.
Tho 01 had a suspect computer IMO and I never wanted to mess with it but this one seems untouched. ;)
vtdiesel 03-04-2008, 05:26 PM Dirty pics of the new ride.
