Anything is possible with enough fabrication, but, the IHI turbocharger from your D-Max has a specialized turbine housing, not a standard T-4 (of equivalent) flange.

there are many turbo upgrades for the tdi...most turbos have integrated manifolds, and the ones that dont must have custom fab'd manifolds

perhaps it could work then. I'm not familiar with the TDI's much at all, so this would be something interesting to me to see...could be a fun fab job.

If the TDI is recent 2003+ a nice upgrade is a Garrett VNT30 IIRC
Just to keep the sensors happy :)

You might be able to get it on there with lots of custom fab work, but you will never spool it on a TDI. A vr6 gas engine would be a decent match for it but not the TDI.

The TDI 1.9 comes with a VNT-15 from the factory, some people are stepping up to the VNT-17. The 15 gets real unhappy with sustained boost >20psi. If you go bigger than the 17 the lag is terrible.
This is what they look like, they are integral with the manifold

TDIparts.com and kermatdi.com offer hybrid turbos that are all the rage now...
Fast spool, big boost, wide range, great mileage.

Fast spool, wide range, big boost...almost sounds like an oxymoron! Man the advancements being made sure change things!
