I want to run my IPOD directly through my radio, and I was told that there is an "AUX IN" located on the back of the radio I can use. To avoid having to pull the radio out, just to find out....does anyone know if this is true?
I own a 2005 SIlverado and the radio is a AM/FM, w/single CD and XM and ON STAR...
If there is such a connection point, what kind of wire/cables does it take?
Thanks in advance!

There isn't exactly an auxiliary input... you can get a converter that will interface with the factory radio and work as the cd changer input and will have an input you can hook up to. You can search the internet for say "gm factory aux input" and maybe find some results. You can also try some local shops as well. Another option is a wired fm modulator. They run around 50 dollars but shouldn't be any more than that. The part number for the one i have used in the past is an "adv fmm100a" it works very well and i have personally used it in a 2004 and a 2007 silverado. The only thing you will need are antenna adapters for the truck and they run about 12-15 dollars each (you will need 2 (one from gm to universal connection and one from universal to gm connection)). Hope this is of some help.

I guess it wasn't such a simple question as I thought.........
