OK heres the deal. I received this for Christmas and no shop around here will put it on because i didnt buy it there, and it cant be returned so i am stuck doing it myself. I have the Crimestopper CS2016FM, there is a link below to the installation manual in a PDF format. I also have the module that does the databus interface(DB-GMDL-BP) and that hooks into pin 2 on the OBD port, taking care of the doorlocks and passlock interfaces. I also have the T-harness for the ignition. this harness T's inbetween the plug under the steering column so you have no wires to cut.
----the wires that drop out of this "T" are 2 RED (-and + 12v input), WHITE(Ignition 1), WHITE/RED (Ignition 2, not found on all cars...is it on mine?), WHITE/BLACK (Accessory), YELLOW/BLACK (Starter)----
as far as all that i know everything but why i have 2 red wires and they both already have a 12v feed to them, they also both have 30amp fuses between the ends and where they splice in the "T". i dont know what i hook them too.

I also have a printout from Installogy telling me what wires i need to tap into and where, but there are some i cant find.
GLO-PLUG - it says Dk. Blue and Behind instrument cluster - There were several, does anyone know the pin num on the gauge cluster plug?
TACH- White - Pin A2 behind instument cluster - anyone know if this is right?
PARKLIGHTS - Grey/Black - at light switch harness - i found this wire, when the park lights were off it had 12v on it, when i turned them off 0v, i think the Unit will send a neg pulse which will cause them to come on?????

that is the install book to my Remote Start/Alarm

Well i have most of the rest sorted out i am just confused between some of this cause some things dont match exactly to the others. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ry

it can be a real b**tch if you dont have the proper wiring diagrams and locations(as you know). sooooo if you want real help my ADVICE is to contact the remote start guru on this forum, his handle "MAX POWER". im sure he can set you straight):h ):h

is there any way to make that dinging stop. when i unlock my doors with the remote start it makes my parking lights come on. wel when i open my drivers door i hear all that dinging until i either start the truck or the lights shut off on their own. just wondering if there was a way around this.

Nope. Unless you want to disconnect the park light wire or something along that line.

everything was working fine earlier today.later today i started my truck and realized that i didnt have any of my gauges except my tach and speedo worked. i came home and checked some fuses but i dont know what fuses i should even be looking for. i got pissed and unhooked everything from the remote start itself. stil nothing. i dont thinnk the gauges have blown a fuse cause when you turn the ignition on the needles move. gauge plug is ok. here are some other problems. my doorlock switch on the driver and pass door will not operate any of the doors. the driver window will operate withthe ignition completely off. and so will the pass side. the driver side controls will not operate the pass side nor any of the rear windows. all of these problems WERE occuring before i unhooked everything. so i decided to unhook both batt for a while. upon reconnecting no windows will go down, dorrlocks not working either. im clueless at this point.

What is all this controlled by BCM? or ECM? Any idea on where i could find fuses to the BCM? i am so lost right now. i was supposed to go back to college tonight but im afraid to drive it with all this messin up

i already sent a PM to Max Power, but i was checkin to see if anyone had every experienced this

Like told you in a PM, all these functions are controlled by a bcm. Check all your wiring, check all you fuses (won't take more then a few minutes)

Also unplug your GMDLBP as it works through data so just take it out of the equation.

Do you have a code reader?

yea i was just checkin to see if anyone else ever ran into something like this.

i dont have a code reader but i forgot to include something, earlier when i was messin around i turned my key off and in my odometer a number 36 popped uo for a sec and went off.

well, this method works great for me when I'm working on the truck and don't want to be annoyed, but it won't help you on the every day dinging. All I do is manually click the drivers door latch down a notch (as if the door was latching to the pin). One click down makes the BCM think the door is closed and the dinging stops. All you have to do to release the latch is pull the door handle and it will spring back.

**note - just remember not to slam the door closed with the latch set!
