Hi guys, looking to add a filter kit some time soon, of theis two witch do you all prefer?

Not trying to start anything if this is a hot buton, I dont know a lot abought the two set ups. I have used racor kits in the past in marine aplications but want your advice:

or

http://nicktane.com/filter.htm

Nicktane is a cheeper kit, looks well done and a few post on how nice they are.

I just installed the nicktane kit over christmas on my truck. It is a high quality piece and it is very easy to install. It is also easy to convert the truck back to stock if you had to for warranty work. I can not comment on the other kit for I have never used it, but you will definately like the nicktane kit if you get it.

ditto all the above on the nicktane kit........

excellent quality, good instructions, just be sure and get the proper
fuel line disconnect kit prior to starting. I have had no problems at all
with mine. I really don't know if it helps or not, but the peace of mind that it might, makes it worth it. The spin on filters are available at any CAT dealer.

My Racor kit is almost the same thing but I have a better built harness if you need it. Also the rock guard comes with the kit and not and option. You can also get choices on water sensor and heater. Kit also comes with a 2micron filter unless you state that you want something different.

Installed the Nicktane kit two months ago. It is a quality piece of work with excellent instructions. Indeed make sure you get the Lisle "Quick" (.....) disconnect tool for your fuel lines. Apart from all this you can expect great service from Nick!!

I have the Nicktane kit on my truck and like it very well The filter element (Catapillar)its self is of outstanding quality and not just a piece of thin tin with a loose mounted element in it. Its superior to the OEM. My opinion.

The frame mounted Racor kit is as good as any and has turned it some good fuel analysis numbers. Very easy to install. Later! Frank
